Sustainability At Our Core

An entity of water stories PVT. LTD.

is an attempt to create a conscious fashion label.

Rooted in authenticity, yet remarkably relevant to present day, 63East is a homegrown label of handcrafted clothing.

Mindfully Made

We care about how we create. Our passion may drive our imagination, but our concern for human-centric design ascertains the processes we use.

From sifting through fabrics endlessly for the perfect fabric feel to maintaining ethical standards in our production process, 63EAST, remains conscientious of the fact that we must stitch, straddle, wear, and flaunt responsibly.

We use organic cotton certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).
It sustains the health of soils, ecosystems and people, by using natural farming processes.
That means no toxic chemicals and 81% less water consumption than non-organic cotton.

We are eliminating all virgin plasic thorugh our packaging.

Our tote bags are made out of heavier grade cotton muslin, and our mailers and tags are made out of corn starch - making it biodegradable, compostable and eco-friendly.

We believe in creating high quality, timeless essentials that will be worn and used for a long time, and won't end up in a landfill.

Our garments are handcrafted by artisans who are treated fairly, given fair wages and provided with a wholesome, inclusive work environment.

About Our Founders

Sanjana & Ankit Bhuwalka have been in the retail business for the past 7 years.

The duo first founded the label Scarlet Sage in 2017, which offers a range of statement pleated clothing. And after the success of their first brand, they decided to expand and venture into cotton clothing for women - which led to the foundation of 63East.

Sanjana has a an affinity for fashion and design and has always been involved in various projects of apparel, real jewellery, art jewellery, designing, building a label of pleated garments and more over the last 17 years.
Ankit brings his business acumen to retail from 15 years of running a listed, family business owning several steel manufacturing units.

Together, their aim was to create brands which cater to different niches in the omni-channel fashion retail segment. Building a sustainable label was always one of their goals.

"We believe strongly, that for fashion to stay relevant in the future, it must do more good than harm. Mindfulness in all strata's of life, be it the business you run, the children you raise or the lifestyle you adopt, must take into consideration the factor of environmental impact. Today's and tomorrow's conversation must remain sustainability is we are to leave behind a liveable planet for generations to come."
